The Pierce County Health Careers Council is hosting up to 900 students from all areas of Pierce County at the 5th Annual Pierce County Health Career Day.

Sponsorship Opportunities

The future of healthcare depends on the students of today.  In keeping with the mission of the Health Careers Council of Pierce County, we offer a unique opportunity to high school students to meet and interact with healthcare professionals and institutions of post secondary education to explore the vast array of opportunities in the healthcare field.

Following 2007’s event, we received feedback that the $15 student fee presented a financial hardship for some and prevented them from attending the event.  In order to allow all students to benefit from this opportunity and to reach a broader, more diverse range of students, Health Career Day is offered at no fee for students. Your sponsorship dollars will help keep this very popular event open to all interested students.

Each level provides your company with recognition exposure in event publications, on web sites, and in the exhibit hall on the day of the event.

Diamond (contribution of $5000+)

  • Enable 334 students to attend the event
  • Organization name and logo on all HCD marketing materials

Platinum (contribution of $3000)

  • Enable 200 students to attend the event

Gold (contribution of $1500)

  • Enable 100 students to attend the event

Silver (contribution of $750)

  • Enable 50 students to attend the event

Event Check-In

Health Career Day is being held at Pacific Lutheran University. All sponsors may reserve a booth in the Exhibit Hall at no extra charge. Advance registration is required if you select to have an Exhibiter's booth. Please go to the Exhibitor Registration section to reserve your booth. The Exhibit Hall will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Exhibitors can arrive as early as 7:45 am to begin setting up. The Exhibit Hall is located in the PLU University Center, building number 34 on map below.

Pacific Lutheran UniversityPLU is located seven miles south of downtown Tacoma, Washington, at the intersection of Garfield Street S. and Park Avenue S: 12180 Park Avenue S. Tacoma, WA 98447.

MUST HAVE A PARKING PERMIT DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD

Free visitor parking is available in the following parking lots or in any unreserved areas:

  • University Center Parking Lot-for Exhibitors
    Between 122nd Street & 123rd Street on Park Avenue
  • Yakima Avenue Parking Lot-121st Street & Yakima Avenue South
  • Mortvedt Library Parking Lot-Wheeler Street & Park Avenue
  • Harstad Hall Parking Lot-Garfield & Park Avenue
Bus Information:

  • Student drop-off is in front of the University Center Building on your right on Park Avenue. Please arrange your after-the-event pick-up point before dropping-off students.
  • After student drop-off, continue to 125th Street South turn right on Yakima Ave South then left on 124th Street South
  • Bus parking is located in the Olson Auditorium Parking Lot at 10th Avenue  South & 124th Street South

Traveling southbound on Pacific Avenue South:

  • Turn left 121st Street South
  • Turn left on Park Avenue

From Interstate 5 (North or South)

  • Take exit 127 off Interstate 5 and head east on Highway 512
  • Continue on 512 for approximately two miles
  • Take the WA-7/Pacific Ave exit.
  • Turn right on Pacific Avenue S.
  • Turn right on 121st St. South
  • Turn left on Park Ave

Lunch/Refreshments

Networking lounges will be located in the PLU University Center building number 34 and open to all sponsors, exhibitors, workshop presenters and chaperones. No children or students allowed in the adult lounges. The lounge will be stocked with light refreshments throughout the day. In addition, the PLU cafeteria has a variety of food and drinks available for purchase.
